Hello.
Music News
For Stonehouse Posse news, check out our MySpace Site. But wait, there's more news than that. Somewhere between Christmas and New Years Eve last year, a new musical animal formed that is currently going by the name L.Tiza and the Stonehouse Posse. This darling Brazilian girl has the voice of an angel and the patience to put up with us, enough patience in fact to have recorded three tracks. Josh Kramer was good enough to donate his facilities and considerable time to put together a few demos. The music is really interesting. Check it out.
Stonehouse Posse's music will be featured in an audio tour for Decatur, GA. Hot dog. Here are the tunes selected for the film: Roulez E.C., Long Hair, Hard Times, and June Apple
About this site
Some ask, "What's with the name?" "Why the website?" It's a long story but here's the short version. The site is registered to Chris Kearney of Decatur, Georgia. The site was originally just for play and to learn HTML (c. 1994), then later used for for work. After some years of neglect, now the site is again for play. Some who come here know me from work. Others know me because I play drums. Some both.
Originally from Bay Village, Ohio (west of Cleveland), I finished college at Ohio University, found a job, moved to Atlanta, and eventually married a sexy and exotic young lady named Gail Jones. Gail is a sailor's daughter. When we met, she was a veterinary student at the University of Georgia (c. 1989). We've since married and started a family. All this and even more intriguing information about us are mere clicks away.
"If the colleges were better, if they really had it, you would need to get the police at the gates to keep order in the inrushing multitude. See in college how we thwart the natural love of learning by leaving the natural method of teaching what each wishes to learn, and insisting that you shall learn what you have no taste or capacity for. The college, which should be a place of delightful labor, is made odious and unhealthy, and the young men are tempted to frivolous amusements to rally their jaded spirits. I would have the studies elective. Scholarship is to be created not by compulsion, but by awakening a pure interest in knowledge. The wise instructor accomplishes this by opening to his pupils precisely the attractions the study has for himself. The marking is a system for schools, not for the college; for boys, not for men; and it is an ungracious work to put on a professor."
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
I went to college because I wanted to talk like Dietrich on Barney Miller."
